Winter!

That's right, everyone. Yesterday was officially the first day of winter. We celebrated with all-day temperatures hovering at -2 degrees and windchill around -22. We are still covered in ice and have had wind gusts of 30-40mph, which means periodic ice chunks hammering into our house. We woke up this morning to a new winter storm watch: another ice storm appears to be on its way tomorrow! Oh how grateful we are for a warm home to sleep in! Looks like the whole country is experiencing extra cold temperatures right now. How are you celebrating winter?

Despite the extra cold weather, we are getting excited for Christmas -- only 3 days away!

You need to be in Louisiana--it was in the 70's on Saturday. Yester day it cooled off--we're all the way down to about 40 :)

We got our annual Christmas blizzard this weekend. We've shoveled about seven times since yesterday morning and it still hasn't stopped. I guess you get ice and we get snow!

I have to say, I'd take snow over ice any day! That's a bummer that you've got another storm brewing, too! We had one of those -22 wind chill days last week though and I don't think it's gotten warmer than 25 since. Definitely thankful for a warm home. Can't say the same about work--they have heating issues. The day after our record low, the heat went out altogether!

I'd much rather be in Louisiana right now, mom. Or Hawaii. :)
