What better way to spend your summer than doing projects around the house...right?? Matt has been working hard to beautify our home and it feels so great to get around to some things we have been wanting to do for a while but just haven't had time.
When we first bought our house, the yard was a mess. I'm not saying it's perfect now but it has come a long way. Along the side of the house between the house and detached garage was so overgrown it was difficult to walk through it. I don't have a before picture but here is the after....we dug it all up, put rocks down instead, and made a spot to park our garbage can where the rest of the world can't see it.
Next, we were ready to tackle the front of the house. We hated the "landscaping" in front of the house, mainly because it was...well, just out of control! But until now we have just lived with it until we could "get around to it". Well, that day finally came. So refreshing... There is still room to plant more but right now, we are just happy all that overgrowth is GONE.
This weekend Matt finished up a project that has been in the works for a while now... putting up a chair rail in the dining room. We painted the lower half back when we did the entry way over a year ago but never got around to finishing the actual trim. It took a little time but not too bad and I think it looks great.
Thanks for all your hard work Matt! It's great to have you around the house a little more these days ;)

Looks like it was a busy day for everybody!
Wow, what a great job! Looks like you had some great helpers, too. :)
Well I will assure you that we didn't do it all in one day ;)
