'Twas the night before

' Twas the night before school started
and all through our home
Not a child was in sight
where they usually roam

A backpack was hung
by the front door with care
In hopes that the school bus
soon would be there

Allison was nestled
all snug in her bed
While visions of school supplies
danced in her head

She went to bed early
to get lots of rest
And hoped that tomorrow
would be just the BEST

The pencils were sharpened
and each crayon came
Tediously labeled
with Allison's name

Scissors and glue sticks,
erasers and more
Kindergarten surely
would not be a bore

A whole lot excited,
a little bit scared
Not sure what to expect,
but hopefully prepared

A big day tomorrow,
we'll see what will come
But who's more excited--
Allison or Mum?

That is such a cute little poem! I'm impressed! I can only imagine the level of excitement buzzing in your neck of the woods. Can't wait to hear how the first day went!

How cute! Jacob starts kindergarden in two weeks. He is so trilled. His school supplies are all pack in his backpack. Me...I'm not so excited about it.

I remember YOUR first day of Kindergarten, Julie. When I dropped you off at WPS, you hopped out of the car and never even looked back to wave goodbye :)
