So, they say some women go through something called "nesting" when they are pregnant. Basically, it is the urge to clean and organize everything in order to get ready for the new baby. It is supposedly a primal instinct posessed by all females in the animal kingdom, and just as birds gather sticks and stuff to build their nests in preparation for their babies, we clean our houses, wash and fold the baby clothes, etc., etc. Well I don't know about any primal insticts, but I think I have caught the nesting bug. For me, it's more like, "I better get this done now because in another month I'm not going to have the energy to do it." Which ever way you want to look at it, I've been feeling pretty good about myself the last little while... I've scrubbed the tub, cleaned the oven, mopped floors, cleaned out closets, under the couch, the laundry room, vacuumed the ceiling fans, started freezing meals... With spring break coming up next week, just think of all the possibilities! Maybe I am crazy, but at least the house is getting clean :)
(In case you were wondering about the picture, I took that last spring when a Robin decided to build its nest in the big bush right outside our living room window. It was kind of fun to watch the progress as the baby birds hatched and grew!)
